Noblestar, a global IT Professional Services firm, announced today that Paul Robinson, Jr. will be speaking at the upcoming Financial World of Information Technology conference in Riverside, CA, June 2 – 6, 2008. The conference is being hosted by the IT Financial Management Association (ITFMA).
Robinson’s presentation, “Extending the IT Portfolio to include Asset/Application Portfolio Management,” will discuss how entering and reporting on the details of proposals and projects, make up the bulk of most organization’s portfolio management efforts. In these same organizations, 50% or more of the IT budget is spent supporting the IT assets, mainly in the form of maintenance of existing applications. Yet the details of IT assets are, more often than not, omitted from the overall IT Portfolio. This failure to reflect the work and cost associated with, and health of IT assets leaves the Office of the CIO scrambling to explain both what the bulk of the IT budget is being spent on, and what IT resources are doing with all of their time.
Paul Robinson Jr., Senior Consultant in Noblestar’s IT Portfolio Management Practice, has extensive experience across a number of business domains, including portfolio management, performance management, balanced scorecard development, business process re-engineering, and strategic business planning. Mr. Robinson’s client work spans both commercial and government enterprises. Robinson comments, “We are excited to be extended the opportunity to speak at the 2008 IT Financial Management Association conference. The topic of 'Extending the IT Portfolio to Include Assets' is sure to resonate with those in IT looking to gain even more insight into IT spending via their portfolio management efforts.”
