Noblestar to Speak at 2008 Software Development Conference & Expo West

11/12/2007 - Reston, VA

Noblestar, an IT Professional Services firm, announced today that they have been chosen to speak at the Software Development Conference and Expo West in Santa Clara, CA, on March 3-7, 2008.

Alan Bustamante, Senior Consultant at Noblestar, will be delivering a presentation entitled "Call the Requirements Police, You've Entered Design!" This presentation will take a practical look at moving from requirements to design, the different factors that can affect the transition, and why sometimes it's ok to introduce design level activities into your requirements activities in order to achieve project success. Attendees will walk away with and understanding of the distinction between Requirements and Design, how to write use cases so that they are agnostic towards specific UI characteristics (i.e., dropdown, checkbox, etc.) and how to identify if compromise is appropriate when faced with introducing design-level activities into requirements.

Mr. Bustamante comments, "The business environment today is growing ever more complex and along with it, the complexity of the software applications that businesses run on. Efficient, but effective communication, especially on highly globalized projects, is critical to the success of the project and in many cases, the development organization. Ensuring the right level of detail is used when communicating software requirements, without straying too far into design, can improve a project's chances of making it versus breaking it." He continues, "I am excited to have the opportunity to share some of my experiences with the software development community at SD West. The conference creates an environment for software development professionals to continuously refine and improve their software development practices and I'm proud to be a part of it."
